Lexington Plastic Surgeons is excited to welcome Dr. Angel Farinas  as the newest member of the Medical Staff in our Atlanta office!  Dr Farinas specializes  in both breast and body contouring. His patient-centric approach and genuine, warm, caring demeanor have afforded his patients a great level of comfort while navigating through their surgical journey.

Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela,  Dr Farinas obtained his medical degree in the Escuela “Luis Razetti” of the Universidad Central de Venezuela. After completing his duties in his native country, he came to the United States and accomplished his General Surgery training at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH. Subsequently, he practiced as General Surgeon around the Atlanta area to obtain his permanent residency in this country. In this period as a practicing General Surgeon, he obtained the position of Associate Professor in Augusta University and PCOM medical schools, helping instruct medical students in their surgical knowledge.

In 2015, he was nominated as Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  After this, he focused his career at Vanderbilt University studying the validity of Magnetic Resonance Imaging in predicting recovery on peripheral nerve injuries. During his time at this institution , he also published studies on tendon injuries, the validity of acellular dermal matrix compared with pedicled flaps in breast reconstruction and compared different types of fat grafting techniques in breast reconstruction as well, among other studies. Successively, went to Oklahoma University to complete a clinical fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. 

Dr. Farinas is the son of a plastic surgeon and  is married with two amazing children.  He loves to spend his free time with his family and two Australian Shepards. He is a HUGE soccer fan, and he enjoys watching movies, running, and most importantly, cooking special Venezuelan barbecue.  He is fluent in Spanish and English. He is very excited to return to Atlanta, which he considers home and is happy to be close to family and friends in his adopted city.
