Reconstructive Surgeon

Christopher Hankins M.D. is a reconstructive plastic surgeon who has joined the Lexington Plastic Surgeons Houston of office. He specializes in hand, breast aesthetic surgery, and anti-aging medicine.After earning his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch, Dr. Hankins completed the General Surgery training prerequisite for Plastic Surgery as established by the Residency Review Committee in Plastic Surgery as well as Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.

He subsequently completed 5 plastic surgery fellowships which included a Plastic and Microsurgery fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine and a Hand Surgery fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Author of 19 manuscripts in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Hankins serves on the editorial boards of four medical journals and as a reviewer on three others. He has been a presenter

at the regional, national and international level. Dr. Hankins served as the Medical Director of the Wound Care Center at the Sweeny Hospital from 2011-2014. In addition to his interests in plastic surgery, he has an intense interest in anti-aging Medicine and passed both the written and oral examinations to become a Diplomate of the American Association of Anti-Aging Medicine.

Dr. Hankins is actively involved in charities and has participated in plastic surgery medical missions in Peru, Bolivia and Pakistan, where he performed a number of surgical procedures on disadvantaged children and adults. He sits on the Boards of Directors of both the Agris-Zindler Children’s Foundation and the House of Charity.

He has made several life-saving diagnoses, including Hodgkin’s lymphoma and coronary artery disease, that patients were unaware of when they consulted with him. Dr. Hankins takes great pride in happy patients – doing everything necessary to insure a smooth postoperative recovery and the best possible results.

Not only is Dr. Hankins a plastic surgeon as well as an artist, he is also an accomplished pianist. He says that Debussy, Mozart, Bach and Chopin are his favorite composers. He also loves singing. He recently sang “The Lord’s Prayer” at a local church Sunday service. His mantra in his career as well as his avocations is CANI, meaningConstant and never ending improvement.
